Description

Isowighteone is an enzyme inhibitor that acts as a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme tyrosinase. It is a tetronic acid with a plastid-localized precursor, and has been shown to have antioxidant activity. Isowighteone inhibits the growth of cancer cells and has been shown to inhibit the development of metabolic disorders in animal models.
