Description:
Indol-3-ylmethanamine is a plant hormone that belongs to the group of indole alkaloids. It inhibits the production of phytoalexins, which are secondary metabolites that protect plants against pathogens. Indol-3-ylmethanamine induces signal pathways and enzyme activities in cells, including hydroxylase activity and polyphenol oxidase activity. Indol-3-ylmethanamine has been shown to be active against 5-HT4 receptors in vitro.
