Description:

4-Iodo-2-nitrophenylamine is an activated aromatic amine that is used as a chemical intermediate in organic synthesis. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Trichophyton mentagrophytes, a fungus that causes ringworm, by preventing protein synthesis. The reaction time for the iodination reaction of 4-iodo-2-nitrophenylamine is dependent on the concentration of hydrogen peroxide and temperature. 4-Iodo-2-nitrophenylamine has two polymorphs: yellow needles and violet crystals.
