Iron chloride tetrahydrate is a compound of iron and chloride. It has been shown to be an effective treatment against pellicles and cell cytoplasm in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Iron chloride tetrahydrate can also be used to treat traumatic injuries by increasing the rate of wound healing, as seen in fibroblast cells. Iron chloride tetrahydrate has shown magnetic properties that can be used for superparamagnetic iron-based MRI contrast agents and magnetic particles with a variety of applications, including chemical interactions with the cell membrane. The chemical interactions between the compound and the cell membrane may also lead to hybridization studies.
