Product Information
Name:1H-Indole-5-carboxamide
Synonyms:
- Indole-5-carboxamide5-(Aminocarbonyl)-1H-indole5-Carbamoylindole
Brand:Biosynth
Description:1H-Indole-5-carboxamide is a pharmacokinetic agent that inhibits the 5-HT7 receptor. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. 1H-Indole-5-carboxamide binds to the 5HT7 receptor, which modulates serotonin release in the brain and reduces inflammation.
1H-Indole-5-carboxamide has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of protozoan parasites such as Toxoplasma gondii and Plasmodium falciparum, by blocking their replication in host cells. The binding affinity for the 5HT7 receptor is about two orders of magnitude lower than that for 5HT2A receptors, so this drug does not exhibit hallucinogenic effects at therapeutic doses.
