The technique used to produce this compound is called Grignard reaction. 3-Iodobenzaldehyde can also be prepared by heating the corresponding nitrobenzene with sodium iodide in dry ether or under refluxing conditions. This compound has a low boiling point and melts at about 170 degrees Celsius. The frequency of this molecule ranges from 98 to 102 megahertz
