Irisflorentin inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species, thereby protecting cells from oxidative injury. This drug also blocks the inflammatory response that leads to hepatic fibrosis. Irisflorentin is active against prostate cancer cells, yet does not affect healthy prostate cells.
