Description:KL8604166 is a potent and selective inhibitor of cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase (PDE) type 4. It has been shown to inhibit PDE4 activity in vitro and in vivo, as well as in human blood samples. KL8604166 has also been shown to potentiate the action of forskolin. This drug has greater affinity for the PDE4 receptor than other PDE receptors, which may lead to fewer side effects. The film-forming polymer used in this formulation is based on polyvinyl alcohol, which prevents the drug from being dissolved in water or blood serum. This formulation can be taken orally, as a tablet.
