Kaempferol 6-C-glucoside is a flavonoid that has been shown to have radical scavenging activity and inhibit the growth of cancer cells. It is one of the most potent antioxidants found in plants and is able to scavenge free radicals by donating hydrogen atoms. Kaempferol 6-C-glucoside has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of breast, colon, lung, prostate and thyroid cancer cell lines. This compound also inhibits the expression of MCA7, a cell growth regulator in human colon carcinoma cells. In addition, kaempferol 6-C-glucoside has been shown to be an effective anti-inflammatory agent in mice with induced inflammation.
