Kaempferol-7,4'-dimethyl ether is a flavonol glycoside that can be found in plants. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and can inhibit the proliferation of t-cells. Kaempferol-7,4'-dimethyl ether also inhibits the growth of lung cells and pancreatic cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthesis. Kaempferol-7,4'-dimethyl ether is synthesized by reacting kaempferol with methyl acetate in n-hexane solvent at a high temperature. This synthetic process prevents the formation of polygalin, a plant metabolite that has been shown to have anticancer activity.
