Kuwanon is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that belongs to the class of acetate extract. It has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in animal studies. Kuwanon H has been found to inhibit COX-2, an enzyme associated with inflammatory diseases and cancer. Kuwanon H also possesses potent anti-inflammatory activities and inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β. This compound binds to receptors such as PPARγ and TRPA1, which are involved in inflammation and pain signaling pathways.
