Description:Naloxonazine dihydrochloride is a ligand for the opioid receptors. It has been shown to bind to the mu, delta, and kappa opioid receptors. Naloxonazine dihydrochloride is used as a diagnostic tool for glioma cells in culture. It has also been shown to block neuropathic pain in rats by modulating the release of neurotransmitters from peripheral nerves. Naloxonazine dihydrochloride inhibits the binding of naltrexone hydrochloride to opioid receptors and may be useful as a treatment for drug addiction.
