Product Information
Lycopsamine N-oxide is an alkaloid that has been found in plants of the genus Lycopus. It has been shown to have antinociceptive properties and can be used as a medicine for treating pain. This compound also inhibits the release of acetylcholine from cholinergic nerve endings, leading to its analgesic effects. The matrix effect of lycopsamine N-oxide is due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme phospholipase A2, which leads to decreased production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. The toxicological studies conducted on animals have shown that lycopsamine N-oxide is safe for long-term use in humans at doses up to 200 mg/kg per day. In order to analyze the chemical structure of lycopsamine N-oxide, LC-MS/MS methods were used with lasiocarpine as a reference compound. The method was sensitive enough to detect lycopsamine
