a-Lactalbuminin is a protein that inhibits the activity of arginine. It interacts with residues in the protein and bonds to it, changing its conformation. The electrostatic interactions between the positively charged guanidinium group and negatively charged residues contribute to the binding affinity of a-lactalbuminin. This inhibitory effect is preferentially observed in calorimetric studies and spectroscopic experiments.
