Lysergol is a natural compound that belongs to the group of amides. It is extracted from ergot, a fungus that grows on rye. Lysergol has biological properties, such as receptor activity and control analysis. It can be used in the treatment of allergic symptoms and has been shown to have insecticidal effects in some studies. Lysergol also binds to 5-HT2 receptors in the human serum with high affinity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme that breaks down serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine) (5-HT). The polymerase chain reaction technique has been used for detection of lysergol in urine samples. This substance also inhibits P-glycoprotein substrate activity.br>br>
