Description

Lauryl gallate is a natural product that has been shown to inhibit cancer cells. Lauryl gallate has been observed as an inhibitor of the proliferation of human cancer cells, as well as a potent inducer of apoptosis in these cells. It also inhibits the growth of cell lines derived from human cancer cells. In addition, lauryl gallate has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis and induce cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase in cancer cells. The effects are mediated by inhibition of DNA polymerase α and RNA polymerase II activity.
