Lithium diethylamide is a compound that has been studied extensively in the past few decades. It was first synthesized in 1894 by an Austrian chemist and is classified as an amide. Lithium diethylamide reacts with sodium salts to produce lithium salts, which are activated. The compound has been used in the treatment of pancreatitis and infectious diseases such as dyslipoproteinemia (a condition characterized by abnormally high levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood). In addition, it has been shown to be useful for treating other conditions such as transfer reactions and reaction mechanisms. The mechanism of this drug is still not fully understood; however, it is thought to be due to its hydroxyl group or epoxide functionalities.
