- Licochalcone-A
Licochalcone A is a natural compound that induces autophagy. It binds to the penicillin-binding protein (PBP) in the bacterial cell wall by competitive inhibition, inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. Licochalcone A has been shown to be effective against infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis and leprosy. The concentration-time curve of licochalcone A was determined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy on solid tumours in mice. This drug has also been shown to have an apoptosis-inducing effect on human osteosarcoma cells by preventing dna binding activity and blocking the pathway that leads to apoptosis.
