Description:Lomerizine dihydrochloride is a basic compound that is used as an anti-arrhythmic drug. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of congestive heart failure, while also having the effect of inhibiting neuronal death. Lomerizine dihydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the activity of various enzymes, such as 5-HT2 receptors and mitochondrial ATPase, which are involved in energy metabolism. This drug also induces autophagy by increasing cytoplasmic calcium ion concentration and inhibiting protein synthesis.
Lomerizine dihydrochloride has been shown to have inhibitory properties against human serum proteins and is a substrate for phospholipase C, which leads to increased intracellular free Ca2+, preventing platelet aggregation.
