Product Information
Liquiritin is a flavonoid compound that can be isolated from Glycyrrhiza species. It has been shown to inhibit 3t3-l1 preadipocyte differentiation and neuronal death, as well as to suppress chronic cough in an experimental model. The pharmacokinetics of liquiritin has been studied in mice following oral administration of the acetate extract. The major metabolites detected were liquiritigenin, liquiritinol, and liquiritigenol. Liquiritin apioside was identified by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). This compound is a monomeric glycosidic flavonoid that exhibits antiviral activity against human cytomegalovirus (HCMV). Liquiritin apioside also induces toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)-dependent signaling pathways in macrophages, which leads to cytokine production.
