Fmoc-Trp(Boc)-OH is a building block for the synthesis of peptides and other bioactive molecules. It is used in the synthesis of daptomycin, an antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Fmoc-Trp(Boc)-OH is also used as a synthon in the production of natural products such as kynurenine, which has been shown to have anti-cancer properties.
