Description

Methyl anthranilate is a chemical compound that is used in the preparation of other pharmaceuticals. The use of methyl anthranilate as an analytical reagent for the detection of aminoglycosides and fluoroquinolones has been reported in the literature. In this method, methyl anthranilate reacts with trifluoroacetic acid to form an adduct that can be detected by mass spectrometry. This reaction is catalyzed by enzymes such as methyl transferase and benzoate hydroxylase.
