4-Methoxy-3-nitropyridine (4MNOP) is an organic compound that is a white solid at room temperature. 4MNOP has been shown to interact with alkali metals and can be used in the preparation of emulsifying agents. It also has been found to have pharmacokinetic properties, including a low molecular weight, good solubility in water, and a high degree of absorption. The imidazopyridine ring system is susceptible to reductive amination reactions, which may lead to the formation of amine or surfactant residues.
