The thermal expansion coefficient of methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride is higher than that of many other polymers, making it a good solid catalyst for epoxy resin synthesis. Methylhexahydrophthalic anhydride also reacts with boron nitride and reactive metals to form new compounds.
