Macrophage inhibitory peptide H-Thr-Lys-Pro-OH binds to the acidic corneal endothelial cells, which are important for maintaining a healthy eye surface. This peptide also activates human macrophages and basic fibroblast cells and inhibits HIV infection in monoclonal antibody mice.
