Description:Gamma-MSH is a peptide hormone that is usually produced by the cells of the anterior pituitary gland. It has been shown to be a low potency natriuretic and anti-inflammatory cytokine. It has been found to bind to the receptor on granulosa cells and stimulate protein synthesis. Gamma-MSH also stimulates cAMP levels in myotubes, which leads to increased energy metabolism.
