Methyltestosterone has been found to be effective in controlling symptoms of low testosterone in men with prostate cancer or undergoing chemotherapy. The optimum concentration of methyltestosterone varies from individual to individual, but it has been found that doses greater than 0.5 mg/day are not more effective at treating symptoms than lower doses. Methyltestosterone does not bind to human serum albumin, which makes it more bioavailable than other forms of testosterone. Methyltestosterone also binds to rat liver microsomes with significant interactions with other drugs metabolized by these enzymes (e.g., warfarin). The matrix effect has also been observed when methylt
