2-(2-Methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)ethanol is a synthetic intermediate that has been used to synthesize antibiotics and antiviral agents. It has a terminal half-life of about 2 days and its pharmacokinetics are linear with an oral dose range from 10 to 100 mg/kg.
