    Product Information

    Name:N-(2-Hydroxypropyl)morpholine
    Synonyms:
    • 1-(4-Morpholinyl)-2-propanol
    Brand:Biosynth
Description:N-(2-Hydroxypropyl)morpholine is a photosensitiser that has been synthesized as a substitute for chlorpromazine. It is used in the photodynamic therapy of cancerous cells and is used to treat psoriasis. N-(2-Hydroxypropyl)morpholine binds to silicon, cleaves DNA, and induces thermal denaturation. The molecule interacts with piperidine by hydrogen bonding, forming a dimer. It also reacts with metal carbonates such as MgCO3 and CaCO3 to form salts. This product can be synthesized from morpholine and aliphatic hydrocarbons such as propane or butane.
