Description

N-Methyldioctadecylamine (NMDDA) is a cationic surfactant that has been found to be an effective conditioning agent for hydrocarbon oils. It can be used as a component of detergent compositions, and it is also used in the manufacture of fatty acid esters. NMDDA can be detected using FT-IR spectroscopy and it has a molecular weight of 162.3 g/mol. The hydroxyl group and the hydroxy group are both present on the molecule, which makes it polar in nature. This product is soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, and chloroform. NMDDA has a melting point of 130°C and a boiling point of 231°C.
