Description:(1R)-(-)-Menthyl acetate is a lipase that catalyzes the hydrolysis of esters and amides. It has been immobilized to produce a solid-state biocatalyst that is efficient for the hydrolysis of ester bonds. Candida is an unicellular eukaryotic organism belonging to the phylum Ascomycota, class Saccharomycetes. The enzyme has shown excellent activity against Candida albicans, which causes candidiasis.
