Product Information

Name:
2-Methyl-1,8-naphthyridine
Synonyms:
  • Akos Bbs-00006025
Description:

Naphthyridin-2-amines are a class of heterocyclic compounds that have been synthesized in order to investigate the properties of these molecules as potential anticancer agents. The synthesis of 2-methyl-1,8-naphthyridine is described. This compound has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth and induce apoptosis in vitro. It also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as an anti-cancer agent. 2-Methyl-1,8-naphthyridine is a molecule that contains fluorine, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen atoms. It has two asymmetric carbonyl groups with different substituents on each side. 2MNN can form hydrogen bonds with other molecules due to its electron donating methyl ethyl group or electron withdrawing carbonyl group.
2MNN is expressed at high levels in the liver and spleen of rats following oral administration.
