Product Information
- Thieno[2,3-b]pyrazine-6-carboxylic acid, 7-amino-, methyl ester (9CI)
Methyl 7-aminothieno[2,3-b]pyrazine-6-carboxylate is a methoxylated atypical solvent. It has been shown to be cytotoxic to tumor cells and inhibit cell growth in vitro. Methyl 7-aminothieno[2,3-b]pyrazine-6-carboxylate has been shown to cause apoptosis in non-small cell lung cancer and colorectal adenocarcinoma cells by inhibiting the mitochondrial electron transport chain and DNA synthesis. This compound also inhibits the activity of cyclin D1, which is required for progression through the S phase of the cell cycle. The yields are low due to its insolubility in organic solvents.
