Product Information
- 2-Pyridinecarboxaldehyde, 5-Methoxy-
- 5-Methoxypyridine-2-carbaldehyde
5-Methoxypicolinaldehyde is a ligand that binds to amines and β-amino acids. It has been used in the asymmetric synthesis of imines, which are compounds that contain both an amine and a carbonyl group. 5-Methoxypicolinaldehyde has been shown to react with acetylpyridine in the presence of copper(II) oxide to form the corresponding β-amino acid. This compound is also used as a synthetic reagent for alkylation reactions, such as cross-coupling reactions.
