Product Information
Moluccanin is a triterpenoid that has been identified as one of the major active components of the bark extract from an Australian tree, Eucalyptus moluccana. It is a pro-inflammatory agent that inhibits the synthesis of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNFα in human skin cells. Moluccanin has also been shown to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in human intestinal cells. The hexane extract of moluccanin has been quantified at 0.2%. In addition to its anti-oxidant properties, moluccanin has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory activities and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.
