Product Information
3-Methoxy-3-methylbut-1-yne is a ligand that binds to silicon through one oxygen atom. It is insoluble in water and its elimination reactions are protonation and technetium. 3-Methoxy-3-methylbut-1-yne has a dipole moment of 2.0 D, which is stabilized by the presence of four electron pairs. Its preparative method is based on the use of phosphine as an agent to produce metallacycles, which are then reduced with hydrogen gas or sodium borohydride in the presence of a proton source, such as tetraethylammonium hydroxide or potassium tertiary butylate. 3-Methoxy-3-methylbut-1-yne can also be used for the preparation of hexanes by reacting with acidified ethylene glycol in the presence of a base such as triethylamine or pyridine.
