Methotrimeprazine is a drug that belongs to the group of drugs called psychotropic agents. It is used as an antipsychotic, antidepressant, and anxiolytic. Methotrimeprazine is also known as a "mood stabilizer" because it can help control mood swings in people with bipolar disorder. Methotrimeprazine has been shown to have a significant effect on the symptoms of carcinoid syndrome and infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS. It may be effective against other autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, psoriasis, and lupus erythematosus.
