Mercury(II) perchlorate hydrate is an inorganic compound that is the mercury salt of perchlorate. Mercury(II) perchlorate hydrate can be used to make stable complexes with metal cations by adding sodium citrate as a bidentate ligand. The complexed metal cation can then be observed using X-ray absorption techniques.
