Product Information
Mercury(II) perchlorate hydrate is an inorganic compound that is the mercury salt of perchlorate. It has a linear response to changes in concentration and has been used for determining the formation constants of metal ions in solution. This compound is stable when it reacts with anions, but will form unstable complexes with metal cations. Mercury(II) perchlorate hydrate can be used to make stable complexes with metal cations by adding sodium citrate as a bidentate ligand. The complexed metal cation can then be observed using X-ray absorption techniques.
