Description:10-Methoxy iminostilbene is a photophysical that has been shown to be toxic to mouse erythrocytes and to inhibit the DNA polymerase activity of calf thymus. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in an industrial process. 10-Methoxy iminostilbene is insoluble in water and organic solvents, which makes it difficult to purify. 10-Methoxy iminostilbene also has high levels of impurities and is sensitive to hydrochloric acid, methylbenzene, and amines. The functional groups present on this molecule are carbonyl, nitro, hydroxyls, ethers, amides, esters, ketones.
