This chemical inhibits the enzyme that produces superoxide radicals and has been shown to have therapeutic effects in patients with arterial hypertension. 3-Methoxybenzyl bromide also has a nucleophilic function and can react with halides such as chlorine or bromine to form 2,5-dimethoxybenzoic acid.
