Product Information
- 2,5-Dichloro-N-(2-methyl-4-nitrophenyl)benzenesulfonamide
N-(2-Methyl-4-nitrophenyl)-2,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonamide (NMP) is an active analog of the antibiotic nitrofurantoin. It is a potent inhibitor of cellular RNA splicing and induces apoptosis in cancer cells. It also inhibits the synthesis of β-catenin protein and its signaling pathway, which regulates cell growth, differentiation, and survival. NMP has been shown to inhibit mineralization by inhibiting the expression of osteogenic protein genes such as those encoding osteopontin, bone sialoprotein I, and bone sialoprotein II.
