Description:
Modafinil is a psychostimulant drug that is used for the treatment of narcolepsy and other sleep disorders. It has been shown to have low impurities and a good chromatographic profile. Modafinil carboxylate sulfone is a bulk drug that can be used as a process development aid in the manufacture of modafinil. The impurities are quantified by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) with UV detection at 254 nm. The RP-HPLC method was validated for quantification, monitoring, and elution. Acetonitrile is used as the mobile phase with a flow rate of 1 mL/min and an injection volume of 10 μL.
