Description:Montelukast sulfone is a drug development candidate that has been shown to inhibit the cytochrome P450 2C19 enzyme. It has a bitter taste and interacts with other drugs metabolized by this enzyme, such as methiocarb, sulfoxide, and cytosol. Montelukast sulfone has been shown to be effective in inhibiting the activity of human liver CYP2C19 recombinant enzymes and in vitro human liver microsomes. This drug also interacts with other drugs that are metabolized by cytochrome P450 2C19, including methiocarb, sulfoxide, and cytosol. The drug is eliminated from the body through filtration via particle size analysis.
