Description:Meisoindigo is a natural compound that has been found to have anti-cancer properties. It is a derivative of indirubin and was first isolated from the root of Meiso, a plant used in traditional Chinese medicine. Meisoindigo inhibits cellular transformation by binding to the toll-like receptor and inhibiting protein synthesis. It also induces apoptosis by activating caspase-3 and blocking the mitochondrial pathway. The apoptotic effect of meisoindigo is synergistic with hyperproliferative disease, as it can induce apoptosis in cells that are resistant to doxorubicin.
