Description:

4-Methoxybenzoylacetonitrile (4MBACN) is a synthetic stilbene derivative that has been shown to have antiproliferative effects against cancer cells in vitro. 4MBACN has been shown to bind to the CB1 receptor and activate it, leading to a decrease in cellular proliferation. In animal studies, 4MBACN has shown an ability to inhibit the growth of colon cancer cells, but also had some toxic effects on healthy cells. In pharmacological studies, 4MBACN was found to be an antagonist for the opioid receptor with an IC50 of 31 nM.
