Product Information
- 4-(Morpholin-4-Yl)Benzoic Acid
4-(Morpholin-4-yl)benzoic acid (4MBA) is a synthetic compound that inhibits bacterial growth. 4MBA was synthesized by reacting morpholine with carboxylic acid and has shown antibacterial activity against tuberculosis. The biological studies of 4MBA have shown its ability to inhibit the synthesis of DNA and RNA, as well as protein synthesis. 4MBA also has antitubercular and antimycobacterial properties, which are due to its inhibition of enzymes in the DNA or RNA replication process that are essential for bacterial growth. 4MBA is not active against Gram-positive bacteria such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis
