The synthesis of this compound involves the reaction of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde with sodium hydroxylsulfonate followed by hydrolysis of the product with sodium carbonate. This synthetic process is used to produce C.I. Mordant Orange 6 in large quantities, which are then purified using chromatography or recrystallization techniques.
The biological studies on C.I.
