Marfey's reagent is an amine-reactive chiral derivatizing agent that can be used to identify the enantiomer of amines. It is a colorless solid that is soluble in water and alcohol. When Marfey’s reagent reacts with an amine, a lc-ms/ms method can be used to identify the enantiomer of the amine. This reagent has significant cytotoxicity and should not be handled without laboratory protective gear.
