Description:A selective ATP-competitive inhibitor of polo-like kinase 1 (Plk1). This protein is a serine/threonine kinase that regulates cell cycle progression into mitosis and is commonly overexpressed in tumors. The Plk1 inhibition resulted in 50% growth inhibition, induction of cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in neuroblastoma cell lines at concentrations < 20 nM.
