Trans-4-methylcyclohexylisocyanate (TMCIC) is a chemical intermediate that is used in the synthesis of glibenclamide, a drug that lowers blood sugar levels. TMCIC has been shown to have antidiabetic properties, but it also has carcinogenic impurities. The purity of TMCIC can be improved through preparative high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
